Yessica Marin

Figure, light, and the first architecture of consciousness.

Oil paintings exploring childhood not as innocence alone, but as the first territory where awareness begins through body, matter, silence, and environment.

Current work centers on the child as a threshold: the moment before language fully organizes the world, when the body receives atmosphere, matter, presence, and pressure from its surroundings. The paintings search for a luminous realism where structure, tenderness, and psychological stillness can coexist.

Artist

About

Yessica Marin is a Colombian-born artist based in the United States, working in oil painting under the visual signature Y. A. Marin. Her practice grows from years of realism, drawing, and close observation of skin, volume, gesture, and light.

Her current work approaches childhood as an early territory of consciousness: a state in which touch, matter, atmosphere, and environment begin to shape attention, memory, and inner life before they can be fully named. Rather than presenting childhood as innocence alone, the paintings look for moments of presence, absorption, silence, and embodied experience.

Technically, the work searches for luminous structure, subtle atmosphere, depth, and flesh that feels alive without becoming theatrical. This website is an evolving archive of selected paintings, available prints, and a developing body of work dedicated to childhood, consciousness, matter, and environment.
